Browser cache
To reduce how much content needs delivered across the network each time someone visits a website, browsers are able to cache assets like the logo image – to store a local version of the file, so that it doesn’t need downloaded every time. The website provider can specify when to clear that cache and download a new logo, for example if they decide to change the image.
This website includes text, various image assets, and a CSS stylesheet defining how the pages should look. When you've visited the site once, your browser might store some of these assets to avoid having to download them again next time.
This is all great for reducing network traffic, making the web faster for me, but it’s just happening locally on my device. Maybe my neighbor visits the same site regularly too... 💡
